The Holy Ones
2025-present
“The Holy Ones” is a trilogy set of plays, currently in creation stage. Lou wrote three full drafts in 2025, and did their first workshop reading in July of that year. Those three pieces became source material for the creation of three new drafts that used Dante’s “The Divine Comedy” as structural inspiration. The pieces follow trans and gender non-conforming saints and religious figures through the afterlife: Inferno, Purgatory, and Paradise. The audience goes on this journey with them, and the piece explores themes of accountability and redemption, ultimately exploring the notion that there is room for everyone in Paradise. Throughout its creation period “The Holy Ones” became its own project, but also served as inspiration for the creation of a drag video installation, and a set of collage pieces.
